The problem with is painters are their own worst enemy, they have cut corners and pulled strokes to try and make prices pay that has made the employers cut the price’s especially when they book in loads of money this hasn’t changed and I’ve been in the game for over 50 years

A fire (enthusiasm) can only burn for so long before it becomes ashes. Time to time, I enjoy watching your videos - gives me more insight from a well-experienced decorator like you! So, good to see you uploading again. I’m a young 24 year old painter as I work for family business around two years (or more), my passion or will power was revived after leaving college so I love my job more than I realise. After reading the comments, I worry that similar things will happen to me. I try to improve my physical health/condition by going to gym and then eating well. I’ll just roll with it until future says so… I still got a lot of experiences to overcome as time goes on; I will never get back to doing nothing again during my prime years. Never again. Anyway, wished you my kindest regards and enjoy them phat pints when you deserve it, hahaha

@@JeweledBuncey Yes you will need all the strength you can muster as the faster you go the more you will earn due to the low prices on the plots however you will not get that type of money working anywhere else even in an office so unfortunately if you’re doing Painting for the time being you are going to have to put up with it just don’t make it your life Good luck you will need it. 55 year old here. I stopped decorating after 25 years running my own small business working on my own. I gave up a few years ago as my knees & back were giving me to much pain. I never didn't hardly do hardly any big site work as it was all domestic. I've now been running a small courier business. It's a different game but still hard but I'm not in that much pain anymore.

I’m a self employed painter and decorator solo worker and I have private customers only. It took a long time but I eventually became well established locally (every customer within a 7 mile radius). It is still very difficult and it does take over my life more than I’d like but I earn a fair wage and I’m always booked in advance of around 3 months. It’s definitely not an easy trade especially when you have pride in your work and it isn’t always appreciated how skilled you need to be to do this job. It’s never too late to put your skills to better use if you’re not getting what you deserve from your efforts. I wish you good luck in any future ventures you may take and it’s sometimes the jobs and not the job that’s not working. Hope you find the right thing for you!

Gave up house bashing in 2008 when the crash came and apart from 3-4 houses since never went back , crying out for painters where i am , my rate is £20hr 9 hours a day painting hospitals and schools mostly , do my days work and thats that , im 55 in 5 months and realised grafting on price and taking a bit of pride in your work got you nowhere .
